Describe yourself in three words:
Loyal, Honest, Spastic and moves at the pace of a meerkat on crack.

Why do you enjoy working at Pole Fitness Studio?
The experience people take home, from when they enter the lobby, meet the desk staff, play in the class and meet other people just like themselves is addicting.   Pole Fitness Studio makes people happy, and I’m proud to be the manager here.

Tara Starr

Instructor Levels 1 - 4 / Boot Camp

Miss Universal Dream 2013, CF-L1 Trainer, USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach, and NASM Certified Personal Trainer Tara Starr was born in Palo Alto, CA, and raised in the beautiful city of Manila, Philippines. A Vegas resident since August 2011, she discovered the art of pole through Cirque du Soleil’s “Michael Jackson: Immortal” show. “I saw that girl on the pole and asked myself: “What the hell am I doing with my life?”

With an extensive background in performance arts and fitness, Tara’s strength as an instructor lies in her enthusiasm, flexibility, and general badassery. As Miss Nevada Universal Dream 2013, Tara’s platform was "to encourage a healthy self-esteem and self-concept among our youth". This philosophy carries into her teaching style. Tara’s main goal as an instructor is to help her students with their self-esteem and confidence, encouraging them to let out the inner warrior that lies in each and every one of us.

What is your proudest teaching or performing moment?
“In terms of pole? I would have to say that my proudest moment was this one time when I randomly worked the pole at XS while clubbing and these guys threw 5 dollar bills at me. I felt like a legitimate pole dancer then. Hahaha! Like, “Gee, Thanks! You guys really appreciate me!”

What pole move(s) are your favorite?
“Hmm...sounds like a hard one but I would have to say anything that involves doing the splits---pyramid, drop splits from the top of the pole, anything that requires me to spread it. Hahaha! Kidding. Oh and the pinwheel because it’s pretty, and Superman because flying is fun!!!”

Describe yourself in three words:
Goddess, Diva, Comedian

Why do you enjoy teaching at Pole Fitness Studio?
“Apart from the fact that everyone at PFS is like family to me, I enjoy inspiring people to let go of whatever hang-ups they may have about themselves and their bodies, and teaching them to love and accept themselves for the infinite beings that they truly are :)”

Diana Otis

Born in Queens NY, Diana began dancing at the age of 2 and became instantly attached to this form of expression. Dance became a way for her to understand herself and the environment around her. Growing up she studied and performed ballet, contemporary, jazz, and tap with several studios in NYC. Over time, she fell in love with Hip Hop, Heels, Lyrical, Voguing, and Latin Dance (Salsa on 1 and 2, Cha Cha, Bachata) and began training with The Solettes, a NYC performance team. The Solettes performed at festivals and venues throughout NYC, New Jersey, and New England. She has danced with various entities including, Salsa Congress NYC, Flash Mob America, Queensboro Dance Festival, and NYC Dance Parade. Before leaving NY, Diana joined Veganation, a collective of women spreading awareness about animal cruelty and compassion through various art forms. Veganation has preformed at National Animal Rights Day and various Animal Rights Marches in NYC and South Florida.

Throughout this journey, Diana found happiness in sharing her dance passions with youth. She loves to use dance as a way of youth expression and empowerment. In NYC she became a youth mentor and teacher, instructing for over 10 years, using dance as a fun outlet for youth to learn and grow.

In more recent years, Diana has developed a passion for Yoga, Aerial, GoGo and Burlesque. She moved to South Florida, where she trained in yoga, instructed youth, and performed at party venues. Currently, she lives in Nevada and is working/training with Pole Ftiness Studio in pole and various aerial styles. Diana’s goal is to become a lyra beast.

What is your proudest teaching moment?

When you realize you have become more than just an instructor and you’ve influenced a persons’ life in a positive way. Dance can give a being so much strength and awareness and as an instructor, it’s amazing to be a part of that discovery process.

What pole move(s) are your favorite?
I am still developing and learning the skill, but so far I love anything to do with being upside down and I’m digging the superman.

Describe yourself in three words:
Compassionate, Passionate, Gypsy,

Why do you enjoy working at Pole Fitness Studio?
From the moment I took my first class, I knew I wanted to be a part of the Pole Fitness Community. You cannot check in for class or take a class without speaking with a funny, strong, crazy woman! I admire these women and I want to learn from them.

Monica De La Cruz

She participated in musicals in high school: Grease, West Side Story, Shakespeare’s Tempest, Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night Dream. Monica graduated from College of Southern Nevada with an Associate Degree of Biological of Science, and is currently working on getting my Bachelor’s Degree in Biology at the University of Las Vegas Nevada.

What made you want to start pole dancing?

I wanted to start pole dancing for fitness and to get in touch with my empowering sexy side. I especially love taking the Lap dance class at Pole Fitness Studio because I can show my sensual sexy moves on the chair with or without someone on the chair. (hehehe)

How it changed your life?

I've been Poling for over a year now and I feel more confident in myself and have notice the increase in my self-esteem. It also helped me embrace my sexiness and being more comfortable and confident with my body. My health has dramatically gotten better: physically, mentally, and socially.

What pole move or moves is your favorite and why?

My favorite pole move is the reverse grab stag spin using split grip. This pole move looks elegant and graceful. This is my favorite pole move mostly because when I have to fall back into the pole, I feel I have complete trust in myself with the pole.

3 words that best describe you.

Gentle, Compassionate, LOVABLE

What is your proudest performing moment?

My proudest performing moment is when I had to perform at our 2017 Fall Recital with eight different choreography. I manage to change into different outfits for each performance, memorized each choreography, and perform amazingly in each one with a satisfaction smile.

What do you love about Pole Fitness Studio?

I absolutely LOVE how the Pole Fitness Studio encourage and inspire their students to be their absolutely best in class and in life with positive motivation.
