The Evolution of Pole Fitness Studio by Fawnia Mondey

When I moved to Las Vegas in 2005, there were no pole dancing studios. I opened Las Vegas’s first pole dancing studio in a shared space within a Pilates studio where I had to put up and take down nine Lil Minx poles every day. I shared the Pilates studio with other fitness instructors that taught cardio kickboxing, Zumba, barre, and yoga classes.

When I moved to Vegas, I didn’t know anyone except for one friend whom I wrote Stripper Success Secrets with many years prior. Pole Fitness Studio had an interesting beginning. I went from being the only pole dancing instructor with two students a week to being the only pole dancing instructor who was featured on KTNV channel 13 news immediately after the Super Bowl and having a waiting list of enthusiastic students!

Fast forward 19 years to 2024, and our studio has grown to five spaces, designed specially for different forms of dance. Collectively, Pole Fitness Studio has 36 poles (made by Pole Danzer, Lupit Pole, Platinum Stages, Lil Mynx). We created a lavender colored aerial studio for lyra, silks, hammock, and aerial pole. We also built out a private space for dance classes you may not find easily in Las Vegas, such as Latin dance variations, belly dancing, hip-hop, women’s self-defense, full body workouts with TRX and kettle bells, and yin yoga.

The best part is that I’m no longer the only instructor here. I’m so happy to say we have 35 talented instructors who specialize in their craft. We have also grown into a fun and supportive community where people come to lose weight, get stronger, improve their flexibility, meet new friends and feel empowered.

If you’re pole curious, give us a call and schedule a tour. You can also download our free app called Pole Fitness Studio, to your phone to view our schedule. We offer over 100 classes weekly and our memberships include access to our on-demand videos and  live stream. Call or text us anytime 702-878-7653 We can’t wait to meet you!
