Who needs to be certified?

Her certification program is a preferred provider for both AFAA (Athletics and Fitness Association of America) which have lead group fitness since 1980 and NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine), the gold standard in fitness. Pole dancing is a challenging sport where safety and proper technique should be front of mind of all instructors, regardless of the level they are teaching. Instructors should have have a full grasp of the movements, skills, and strength behind the sport that is becoming standardized across the globe.
Why should I get certified by Fawnia Mondey?
Fawnia is known globally as the first person to develop a teaching program around the art of pole dancing, first in clubs to real exotic dancers and then through video when she released her first instructional video in 1998. Her certification program includes SIX levels of Pole Dance, Floor Work, and routines designed to allow teachers to safety lead students through all stages of their pole fitness journey. She has since gone on to train and certify over 600 instructors around the world. Is this program accredited?
Yes, we are a preferred provider for both AFAA and NASM and our Chair Dance Instructors Certification and Pole Dance Instructors Certification Level 1 will earn you CEUs. Fawnia is a current certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor through AFAA.
What do the classes include?
High quality instruction. Each curated pole dancing certification level consists of 20 - 25 pole, dance and floor moves, and transitions. You will receive a complete certification reference guide to take home with you. Upon completion you will receive a sign and sealed certificate of completion. We will be meeting for approximately five hours each day. This time includes a brief snack break, and time for Q & A. Following the certification you will have ongoing support from Fawnia and a optional listing to your company from her website.
How do I pass each level?
To pass the certification you must be able to perform a minimum of 70% of the moves taught. Memorizing the routines is not required. Your take home manual will serve as a guide for continued education. Upon completion you and your company will be listed on my certified instructors page. You will also receive a certification graphic for placement on your website and or promotional materials.
What are the certification renewal requirements?
To keep your certification current on polefitnessstudio.com , two years after completing your certification:
Submit a 60 second video demonstrating level 1
Email a copy of your current first aid/CPR card
Send your $75 renewal fee.
Payment types accepted: Zelle, Venmo, PayPal. If sending via PayPal, please add an $8 transaction fee.
Do I need to be in Las Vegas to get certification?
You do not need to be in Las Vegas for the entire certification course! Hybrid courses are available so you can study online, complete your test and submit your video for approval. The online classes are professionally developed and you can study around your own schedule. We offer in person certifications every April and October.

Are there any prerequisites to begin a certification course?
A min of six months previous pole dancing experience is required to ensure you are prepared for the certification. To further prepare for the course please review “Pole Work” and “Dance Moves and Floor Work”, especially if you have no previous pole dancing experience. Available via Vimeo or DVD. These DVDs are - $20 ea (plus shipping). When you enroll for the certification, we will deduct the cost of the DVDs, so you get them for free!
Can I get continuing education credits for taking the certification class?
Yes! The Chair Dance Instructors Certification and Pole Dance Instructors Certification Level 1 will learn you 0.5 CEUs with NASM and 5 CEUs with AFAA. Take both courses and earn 1.0 CEUs with NASM and 10 CEUs with AFAA.Memorizing the routines is not required. To pass each level and earn certification, you need to successfully perform a minimum of 70% of the moves taught. Your take home guide will serve as a guide for the course.

TRAINING LEVELS, DESCRIPTIONS, AND PRICING*
LEVEL 1: The foundation of pole fitness. Level 1 includes the squat spin, fireman spin, back slide, frisk, and 20 other beginner moves and transitions to start your students off safely. Learn a 3-4 min dance routine.

LEVEL 2: Level 2 includes a variety of spins and different hand placements. You will learn the martini spin, chair spin, carousel spins, front hook, back bend, and 15 other moves and transitions, that build off the previous level 1 routine. Learn a 3 - 4 min dance routine.

LEVEL 3: In level 3 we begin learning how to climb and continue building upper body and core strength. Pole moves include sun-wheel spin, backwards handstand, prance, back hook spin, and 15 other intro-intermediate moves and transitions. Learn a 3 - 4 min dance routine.

LEVEL 4: In level 4 we will be off the ground and using more upper body strength, and students will learn beautifully and easily how to climb and sit on the pole.
