Your Lyra Era Starts Here: Two New Beginner Friendly Aerial Hoop Classes Start May 5th

We're excited to announce that two brand new Lyra classes are joining the schedule at Pole Fitness Studio, both taught by Caroline Godwin and kicking off Tuesday, May 5th. Whether you've never touched a hoop in your life or you're craving a slower, more expressive way to move, there's a new spot for you on the schedule.

Beginner Lyra (BEG) — Tuesdays at 5:00 PM

New to the hoop? Start here! This beginner-only class is designed for students who are brand new to Lyra and want hands-on guidance every step of the way. With a qualified spotter and direction through every move, you'll build a strong foundation in the essentials: proper hand placements, safe entrances and exits, body awareness in the hoop, and the strengthening exercises that will prepare you for everything to come.

No prior aerial experience needed — just come ready to learn, build confidence, and discover the basics of Lyra in a supportive environment.

Low Flow Lyra (All Levels) — Tuesdays at 6:00 PM

Slow it down and feel the flow. This all-levels, sequence-based class focuses on simple, fluid choreography with the hoops set at a height where you can comfortably reach the top bar — keeping you safe, grounded, and free to focus on what matters most: your expression, your enjoyment, and your embodiment in the hoop.

You'll move through accessible transitions and beginner-friendly poses linked together into a flowing sequence, perfect for students who want to dance with the hoop without the pressure of high-flying tricks. Whether you're newer to Lyra or experienced and craving a softer, more expressive practice, this class meets you where you are.

Make It a Double

Beginner Lyra and Low Flow Lyra are scheduled back-to-back on Tuesday evenings, so you can build your foundations at 5:00 PM and then put them into motion at 6:00 PM. It's the perfect pairing for anyone who wants to fast-track their Lyra journey — learn the fundamentals, then immediately apply them in a flowing, expressive sequence.

What to Wear

For both classes, please wear leggings and make sure your midriff is covered. This protects your skin from the hoop and helps you grip safely as you learn.

Both classes are taught by Caroline Godwin, who brings her aerial expertise and love for the lyra to every session. Expect clear cueing, a supportive atmosphere, and a class that meets you exactly where you are.
